Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Operations Research, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a similar quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience:
- 1 year in data analytics, consulting, data science, engineering, or a technical operations role.
- 1 year in statistical problem-solving and data set analysis using SQL or a comparable coding language (e.g., Python, R, Java, C++).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in project management and process optimization with data analytics.
- Experience writing and maintaining ETLs for various structured and unstructured sources.
- Experience in abuse prevention, policy, and regulatory systems.
- Experience delivering production-level metrics, insights, and actions.
- Familiarity with high-priority regulatory responses in a timely and appropriate fashion.

The team addresses online content concerns, navigates global legal frameworks, and enforces worldwide policies to enhance the YouTube experience, ensure internet safety, and protect free speech.
As a Business Analyst, you will leverage data and problem-solving skills to define success metrics for YouTube Trust and Safety operations, measure business performance, and communicate findings to executives and external stakeholders. You will collaborate with business partners to understand data needs, write ETL scripts, and work closely with internal teams to deliver on YouTube’s mission.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and measure performance on operational metrics (e.g., productivity, service level agreement, quality, cost, efficiency, timeliness) and generate insights to improve operational efficiency.
- Understand the user impact of policies, become an expert in key metrics, and conduct detailed analyses to enhance the user experience on the platform.
- Perform ongoing and ad-hoc analyses in support of site-wide Trust and Safety objectives and operational effectiveness.
- Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Legal, Public Relations, and Product Management teams to create data-driven narratives for key policy makers, executives, and governments.
- Partner with data science and strategy teams to prioritize and execute advanced quantitative analyses and modeling to provide actionable insights.
