Job Description: Vibrent Health is seeking a Senior / Lead Data Engineer to support our data-driven approach to health. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in exploring data from various sources to uncover patterns and insights that contribute to improving public health nationwide. Responsibilities:
- Design, code, test, debug, document, and implement changes to both new and existing software applications.
- Implement processes to verify, standardize, and scale data ingestion, transformation, and storage.
- Automate recurring ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and reporting tasks.
- Conduct application testing to ensure delivery meets user requirements.
- Refine new or existing data pipelines for performance optimization.
- Transform proof of concept reports and analyses in Python into reusable, high-value analytics products.
- Collaborate with Data Analysts, Application Developers, Report Developers, Product Managers, and other stakeholders to provide visibility into the data layer and pipelines.
- Identify opportunities to leverage data and develop innovative analytic solutions.
- Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to understand company needs and propose solutions.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends.
- Work as a team member in a highly creative and collaborative environment.
Required Skills and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of experience or equivalent.
- Extensive, advanced knowledge of Python 3 for data management and analytics.
- Experience in ETL, Data Warehousing, and Business Intelligence.
- Familiarity with tools such as Dagster, Meltano, DBT, Metabase is a plus.
- Good knowledge/experience in SQL Databases.
- Working experience with AWS services.
- Working experience with warehouse solutions like Snowflake.
- Experience with Kubernetes and Docker is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Jupyter Notebooks environment is beneficial.
- Significant experience using SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Strong problem-solving and logical reasoning skills.
- Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Willingness to learn new technology tools.
- Critical thinking and self-starting abilities.
