Role Overview

As a Senior Engineer Consultant – Full Stack, you will support mission-critical applications within Verizon. Your responsibilities will include enhancing the customer experience, designing, developing, and maintaining applications, and working throughout the full software development life cycle (SDLC). This includes concept, design, build, deployment, testing, and support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Software Development: Design, develop, and maintain applications by analyzing client needs and requirements.
  • Full SDLC Execution: Execute the entire SDLC, ensuring that each phase meets the required standards.
  • UI/UX Testing: Test and coordinate user interface changes with a focus on Responsive Web Design and Micro Front Ends.
  • Security Compliance: Ensure code complies with security guidelines, including OWASP, DAST, and Source Code standards.
  • Sprint Management: Manage the application development sprint cycle, adjusting plans as needed to meet release timelines.
  • Collaboration: Work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
  • Agile Adaptation: Adapt to an agile environment and contribute to the development of reusable code and libraries.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience:
    • At least two years of experience in web-based UI development using JavaScript, React.js, and TypeScript.
    • Extensive experience in frontend technologies like Node.js, HTML5, and CSS3.
    • Experience in creating REST Services, preferably with Java and the Spring Framework, in a Microservices Architecture.
    • Familiarity with SDLC, Agile Development, and cloud-native environments such as Docker and Kubernetes.
    • Experience with tools like Git, Maven, and Jenkins for building and deploying applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of performance tuning, scalability, and security for high-traffic digital applications.
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills.
  • Familiarity with security tools like Fortify, Sonarqube, and Blackduck.
  • Knowledge of unit testing frameworks like JUnit and monitoring tools such as Glass Box, QuantumMetrics, NewRelic, Splunk, and Kibana.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies (Kanban, TDD, Scrum) and DevOps tools.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Analyze and design software systems and services to meet business needs.
  • Structure and document software systems using appropriate programming languages.
  • Develop design and testing frameworks.
  • Resolve software issues and modify existing software to enhance performance or adapt to new hardware.
  • Provide updates to the business and internal teams on project status.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid role with a defined work location that includes both remote work and in-office days as determined by the manager.

Weekly Hours

This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week.
