Role Overview:

As an Associate Software Engineer at Thomson Reuters, you will play a pivotal role in developing high-quality software solutions primarily using Java and frameworks like Spring Boot. You will be involved in all stages of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, design, implementation, unit testing, and documentation. This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies within the legal industry and across various business domains.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop high-quality code in Java, adhering to best practices and coding standards.
  • Participate in requirements analysis, design discussions, and code reviews.
  • Collaborate effectively in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver software increments.
  • Conduct unit testing and ensure software quality through continuous integration.
  • Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing within the team.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Programming Skills: Proficiency in Java is essential. Knowledge of other languages like C++, Python is a plus.
  • Frameworks: Experience with Spring Boot or similar frameworks is preferred.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive attitude towards learning.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Agile Experience: Hands-on experience working in Agile/Scrum methodology.
  • Testing: Familiarity with unit testing practices.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience with Oracle databases.
  • Previous exposure to enterprise software solutions.
  • Familiarity with SQL, PL/SQL, and XML-based data models.
