Engineer Position at Target Technology Services - Bangalore

Job Overview:

As an engineer in this role, you will be a technical specialist responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving software components that support Target’s operations. You will be expected to have a deep understanding of the technical architecture and design, and you will play a key role in solving engineering problems, ensuring software quality, and balancing the speed of feature delivery with the robustness of software components.

Key Responsibilities:

Technology Evaluation & Contribution: Use your technical skills to assist in evaluating new technologies and contribute to the design, lifecycle management, and cost of ownership of services.
Code Development & Review: Write, organize, and maintain code based on designs, participate in code and design reviews, and ensure high performance, scalability, and security of deliverables.
Automation & Implementation: Engage in automation, debugging, and implementation activities, ensuring that architectural and operational requirements are met.
Disaster Recovery: Participate in disaster recovery planning and activities.
Testing: Engage in functional integration and regression testing, including automating test scripts.
Technical Issue Resolution: Resolve technical issues and monitor system capacity with minimal assistance.
Metadata & Metrics: Understand and search metadata about various data sources and metrics.
Adherence to Standards: Follow change and incident management standards and expectations.

Qualifications:

Education: A 4-year degree or equivalent experience.
Experience: At least 1 year of software development experience.
Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with current and emerging technologies, and proficiency in at least one computer language.
Distributed Programming: Understanding of distributed programming concepts and their application within the domain.
Package Solutions: Knowledge of package solutions and specific programming languages related to those solutions.
Technical Knowledge: Maintain and continuously build upon domain-specific technical knowledge, staying current with new and evolving technologies through training and self-directed education.
