PINE STREET INN IS HIRING DATA ANALYST

The Data Analyst role at Pine Street Inn, based in Boston, MA, involves supporting the Department of Program Evaluation in producing meaningful data analytics for operational insights, program evaluation, and strategic reporting. This fully remote position requires occasional on-site attendance for meetings and work-related events. The role pays $62,400 annually, depending on experience.

Job Responsibilities:

Data Management and Reporting:

  • Perform data validation and cleanup to prepare for analysis.
  • Monitor, maintain, and develop ETL processes for data warehousing.
  • Produce data reports for meetings on reporting requirements.
  • Create interactive dashboards based on audience needs.
  • Optimize the HMIS System for data on outcomes and program quality improvement.
  • Identify and address areas needing improvement in data collection workflow/efficiency.

Research and Modeling:

  • Create robust internal datasets using various sources.
  • Suggest and implement the most scientifically accurate statistical methods.
  • Participate in strategic projects like predictive modeling for organizational direction.
  • Support improved service delivery through data insights.
  • Contribute to research efforts on Pine Street Inn initiatives.

Administrative:

  • Uphold PSI core values and complete work to a high standard.
  • Protect confidential information and adhere to PSI policies.
  • Collaborate across the agency to identify and solve data analytics problems.
  • Manage well-defined projects and assume responsibility for specific components.
  • Promote a professional and welcoming office environment.
  • Serve as a point of contact for staff with data-related requests or needs.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 2-5 years of experience in database applications and administration, preferably in human services.
  • Experience in basic statistics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products, especially Excel.
  • Ability to deliver results, work independently, and prioritize tasks.
  • High standards of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Master’s Degree with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency with SQL, Power BI, Python, or similar analytical tools.
  • Experience with Clarity, ClientTrack, or other Homeless Management Information Systems.
  • Experience with automation software or ETL processes.
  • Knowledge of outcome-based programming and evaluation.
  • Experience working with homeless individuals with untreated mental illness and addictive disorders.
  • Project or workflow management experience.
  • Bilingual/Bicultural (Spanish).

Physical Abilities/Skills:

  • Ability to walk up 6 flights of stairs if needed.
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to use office equipment frequently.
  • Ability to respond safely and quickly in emergency situations.
