Northern Railway Recruitment 2024: Here's How to Apply

The Railway Recruitment Cell, Northern Railway, invites applications from eligible Indian citizens for recruitment against the Scouts & Guides Quota for the year 2024-25. The recruitment is open to all candidates, including those belonging to SM/PWD categories. Candidates applying under these categories will receive age relaxation as per the general open market recruitment norms.

Positions Available:

Level 1: 10th Pass or ITI/National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT
Level 2: Passed 10 + 2 stage or its equivalent examination with at least 50% marks (Relaxation for SC/ST/Ex-SM candidates)

Scouts & Guides Qualification:

A President Scouts/Guide/Rover/Ranger OR Himalaya Wood Badge (HWB) holder in any section.
Active membership in a Scouts organization for the last 5 years.
Attendance in two events at the National Level or All Indian Railway’s level and two events at the State Level.

Age Limit:

Level 1: 18 to 33 years (Age relaxation available as per category norms)
Level 2: 18 to 30 years (Age relaxation available as per category norms)

Important Dates:

Notification Release: 13th August 2024
Online Application Start: 16th August 2024 at 12:00 hours
Online Application Deadline: 16th September 2024 at 12:00 hours
Examination Date: October 2024

Examination Fee:

General Candidates: ₹500 (Non-refundable)
SC/ST/Women/Minorities/Economically Backward Classes: ₹250 (Refundable upon appearing in the written examination)

Selection Process:

Written Examination: (Duration: 60 Minutes, 60 Marks)
- Objective questions related to Scouts & Guides organization and its activities.
- Essay type question on General Knowledge.
Certificate Verification: (40 Marks)
- Participation in National and State events, specialized courses, and district rallies.

Medical Examination & Training:

Selected candidates will undergo a medical fitness test and training as per the post requirements.

General Instructions:

Mere registration does not entitle the candidate to the selection process.
No TA/DA/Accommodation will be provided for the selection procedure.
The Railway Administration reserves the right to modify or cancel the recruitment process at any stage.

How to Apply:

Eligible candidates can apply online through the official Northern Railway website www.rrcnr.org starting from 16th August 2024. Separate applications must be submitted for Level 1 and Level 2 categories, along with the respective examination fees.
