About the Role
As a Software Development Engineer II – Data, you’ll play a pivotal role in our team, overseeing projects and ensuring alignment with both personal and organizational goals. You’ll lead programming activities, optimize system performance, and pioneer new features to enhance operational efficiency. Your responsibilities include:
- Curating and Transforming Data: Convert raw data into scalable, actionable insights.
- Strategic Planning: Develop long-term strategies and mentor junior engineers.
- Project Oversight: Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to timelines.
- Collaboration: Foster seamless communication across sales and engineering teams.
- Leadership and Mentorship: Provide guidance to junior team members for holistic growth.
- Data Accessibility: Make data accessible for organizational optimization.
What You’ll Need
- Education: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Experience: 1-3 years of professional experience in software development.
- Technical Skills:
- Hands-on experience with Big Data systems (Kafka, Apache Spark/EMR, Hive/Impala, Delta lake, Presto, Airflow).
- Proficiency in Java, Scala, or Python for software development.
- Implementation and performance tuning experience with Spark/Delta Lake/Presto at terabyte scale.
- Building streaming solutions using Apache Flink/Spark Streaming/Samza.
- Familiarity with AWS BigData stack.
Good to Have
- Contributions to Big Data open-source projects.
- Experience in data modeling and end-to-end data pipelining.
- Knowledge of OLAP data cubes, BI tools, ELK, Redis, MySQL, RxJava, Java Springboot, and Microservices architecture.
