About the Role:
As a Biz Ops Engineer, you’ll be an integral part of the Business Operations (Biz Ops) team, focusing on ensuring the production readiness of Mastercard products. Your responsibilities will include supporting platform stability through monitoring, implementing changes, designing operational processes, automation, and managing risk and compliance. You’ll play a vital role in maximizing customer experience and enhancing the overall value of supported applications by aligning product and customer-focused priorities with operational needs.

Program You Support: Mastercard Send:
Mastercard Send facilitates faster, more secure domestic money transfers, aiming to replace cash transactions with simpler and safer alternatives. By providing fast, secure, and innovative solutions, Mastercard aims to enable seamless transactions for individuals worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary contact for overall application health, performance, and capacity.
  • Support pre-launch activities such as system design consulting, capacity planning, and launch reviews.
  • Collaborate with development and product teams to establish monitoring and alerting strategies, ensuring zero downtime during deployment.
  • Drive automation and tooling to minimize manual intervention and enhance efficiency.
  • Analyze ITSM activities, providing feedback to development teams on operational gaps and resiliency concerns.
  • Conduct sustainable incident response and blameless post-mortems, focusing on problem-solving and optimizing recovery time.
  • Utilize monitoring tools such as Splunk and Dynatrace, and demonstrate understanding of client-server relationships, network concepts, stack trace analysis, and high availability planning.

Role Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proficiency in coding or scripting, with a passion for automation and embracing new technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, coupled with effective communication and ownership.
  • Interest in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
  • Ability to learn quickly, work in diverse teams, and balance speed with quality.
  • Comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure expected system behavior and anomaly detection.
