Who You Will Work With
The Consumer Products Center of Expertise collaborates with Bain’s global Consumer Products Practice leadership, client-facing Bain leadership and teams, and with end clients on the development and delivery of Bain’s proprietary Consumer Products (CP) products and solutions. These solutions aim to address strategic questions for Bain’s CP clients, including brand strategy, revenue growth management, negotiation strategy with key retailers, and optimization of costs.
You will work as part of a team comprising Directors, Managers, Project Leads, Associates, and Analysts, on projects that typically range from 3 weeks to 3 months. Delivery models vary from working as part of a broader global Bain case team, BCN working independently with a Bain Associate Partner/Partner, or BCN working directly with end clients.
What You’ll Do
- Own a complex workstream or mid-complex cases with support from supervisors (project leader/managers/senior manager)
- Support BCN case leads in problem solving, hypothesis generation, research and insight generation, and quality control
- Interpret, understand, and break down case requirements into actionable task items for the team
- Lead meaningful and focused meetings, delivering business insights effectively to the project leadership
- Execute and deliver high-quality outputs timely to internal and external stakeholders
- Derive actionable insights from voluminous quantitative and qualitative data/research
- Provide day-to-day coaching to analysts on various aspects of projects, while overseeing a workstream for 1-2 analysts
- Gain proficiency in key industry data sources and KPIs, and develop expertise in analytical tools such as MS Office, Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI, etc.
- Develop expertise in select consulting solutions relevant to CP industry clients, and in key sub-sectors within CP, covering consumer preferences, market trends, and competitor landscape
About You
- Candidates should be graduates/post-graduates with a strong academic record
- Work experience for undergraduate degree holders: 2-5 years in management consulting and data analytics relating to market/business/consumer insights, preferably in a global MNC within Consumer Products/Retail
- Work experience for postgraduate degree holders: 0-3 years in the same domains
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to drive discussions/presentations with senior stakeholders and clients
- Professional experience in analytical tools such as Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI is mandatory; understanding of Python, R, and SPSS is a plus
- Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience in applying advanced analytics to a range of business situations and a proven ability to synthesize complex data to generate clear insights
