About Data at Headway
The Data Team at Headway is crucial to our mission of building a new mental healthcare system. This small yet powerful team designs the infrastructure, implements pipelines, and drives analytics and insights to shape the future of mental healthcare. We collaborate deeply with teams across the company to improve operations, unlock key insights through data visibility, educate the organization on data-driven practices, and solve challenging problems using technical expertise and data science.
Functions of Data at Headway:
- Data Analytics: Provides business insights to operate more effectively.
- Data Engineering: Creates the data infrastructure needed for analytics and data science.
- Product Analytics: Analyzes user interactions to enhance user experiences.
- Data Science: Develops data products to power intelligent therapist-matching and smart-survey technologies.
About the Role
We are looking for experienced Analysts to join our growing Data team. As an early member of the team, you’ll address the analytics and insights needs across the organization. You’ll work with team leads to collect, visualize, and interpret data to enhance decision-making by understanding marketplace growth and operations. You’ll build strong partnerships with the organization through data analysis, dashboard creation, and other tools to empower business stakeholders, leading to impactful data-driven decisions. If you’re a self-starter who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys solving challenging problems, and is excited about building a data-driven culture, you’ll be a great fit for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a strategic partner to operations and business teams (growth, revenue, and customer success), defining analytics requirements, identifying important questions, and providing answers through data.
- Support business stakeholders’ operational needs by delivering high-quality outputs from data modeling and reverse ETL.
- Collaborate with Data and Product Analysts, Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and stakeholders to model data in a scalable way and present it effectively to drive better business decisions.
- Communicate data insights compellingly, making technical information accessible to non-technical audiences.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience using data to uncover insights, solve real-world problems, and support decision-making within growth, product, revenue, or operations teams.
- Strong relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in SQL, data modeling, and experience with BI tools like Metabase or Looker.
- Willingness to undertake various tasks to support partner teams and the business.
- Curiosity and analytical rigor, always asking “why?” and exploring data-driven solutions.
- Self-starter mentality, able to prioritize, meet deadlines, and identify opportunities with limited oversight.
- Passion for Headway’s mission to improve mental health care accessibility and affordability.
Bonus:
- Experience with Palantir Foundry, Snowflake, and/or dbt.
- Proficiency in Python or another language for statistical analysis.

- First Round: Meet a team member for a technical interview and learn more about the data team.
- Final Round: Meet several team members for technical and non-technical interviews to get a fuller picture of working at Headway.

- Starting Salary: $178,000 (based on industry tenure and experience).
