Role Overview:
GroundTruth is seeking a Data Engineering Associate Software Engineer to join our Audience team. The Audience Team focuses on audience building using cutting-edge big data technologies such as MapReduce, Spark, and Glue. The team’s primary responsibilities include making audiences available for customer use in our AdsManager platform, integrating audiences with our AdsManager platform, and producing Looker dashboards to provide insights into advertising effectiveness.
We prioritize building a cohesive Engineering Team consisting of effective communicators who collaborate with various business and engineering stakeholders to find innovative solutions. Our engineers possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a problem-solving mindset. As an Associate Software Engineer on our Audience Team, you will contribute to building solutions that enhance our platform’s capabilities.
Responsibilities:
Create and maintain data pipelines for the GroundTruth platform. Develop infrastructure for efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading from diverse data sources using SQL and AWS ‘big data’ technologies. Collaborate with Product, Analytics, and Client Services teams to address data-related technical issues and fulfill data infrastructure requirements. Prepare detailed specifications and low-level design documentation. Participate in code reviews and testing procedures. Provide ongoing maintenance and support for applications post-deployment. Contribute ideas for improving the location platform.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field
- 0-3 years of experience in Data Engineering
- Proficiency with AWS Stack for Data Engineering, including:
- EC2
- S3
- Athena
- Redshift
- EMR
- ECS
- Lambda
- Step Functions
- Experience with Hadoop, MapReduce, Pig, Spark, and Glue
- Hands-on experience with Python for orchestrating data pipelines and performing data engineering tasks
- Proficiency in writing analytical queries using SQL
- Experience with Airflow and Docker
- Proficient in Git
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with Rest APIs. Experience with big data technologies like Hadoop, MapReduce, and Pig. Knowledge of shell scripting and Perl. Experience with BI tools such as Looker and Tableau. Experience with database maintenance. Experience with Amazon Web Services and Docker. Familiarity with configuration management and QA practices.
