Key Highlights:
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 1 year of experience in data analysis, identifying trends, and drawing insights from data.
- 1 year of experience in project management, including defining project scope and deliverables.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Master’s degree in a technical field like Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Analytics.
- Experience in abuse or fraud detection or web security.
- A solid understanding of the internet’s economic, social, and technical aspects, particularly in security, phishing, and malware.
- The ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis: Conduct detailed analyses to detect harmful entities, design performance metrics, track trends, and find system vulnerabilities.
- Security Analysis: Investigate potentially malicious websites and software to understand their effects on users.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with teams like Engineering, Product, and Legal to enhance system accuracy, address loopholes, and improve the user experience.
- Policy and Risk Strategy: Understand and help improve Google’s product policy and enforcement strategies by identifying risks, inconsistencies, and areas of success.
- Sensitive Content: The role may involve exposure to upsetting or graphic content, as the analyst will work on projects related to abuse and harmful content.
Working Environment:
This job is part of Google’s Trust & Safety team, responsible for ensuring the safety and security of users across Google’s products, like Gmail, Search, Maps, and Ads. The team works globally, focusing on protecting users from fraud, abuse, malware, and other threats, while working collaboratively with various Google teams.
