Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in data analytics, Trust and Safety, policy, cybersecurity, or related fields.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in standards and practices at a major media company.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to confidently brief executives.
  • Effective business judgment, influencing and decision-making skills, with the ability to build relationships with cross-functional partners, across geographies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills with attention to detail in an ever-changing environment.
  • Track record of working with product, engineering, and operations stakeholders at a technology or media company.

About the Job:

The Trust & Safety team is responsible for tackling the biggest challenges that threaten the safety and integrity of Google’s products. Using technical expertise, problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication, the team protects users and partners from abuse across various Google platforms like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads.

As a Policy Enforcement Manager for Age Appropriateness, you will:

  • Ensure age-appropriate content on YouTube and YouTube Kids.
  • Collaborate with policy development experts to create and implement content policies.
  • Implement and enforce policies across videos and define operational plans globally.
  • Review graphic, controversial, and offensive content in line with YouTube’s Community Guidelines.
  • Work with stakeholders from Product, Engineering, Vendor Operations, Analytics, Policy, and Legal.
  • Develop policies and enforcement guidelines for a consistent user experience.
  • Respond to emerging platform trends and contribute to machine learning automation for policy enforcement.
  • Provide expert decisions on content reviews and handle priority escalations to ensure user safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure age-appropriate outcomes for content across YouTube and YouTube Kids.
  • Partner with policy development, multiple product teams, vendor managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and scale enforcement guidelines to ensure consistent application of YouTube’s policies.
  • Recognize platform trends to create appropriate viewer experiences and support YouTube creators.
  • Develop machine learning tools to automate policy enforcement.
  • Provide insights and expert decisions on age-appropriate content reviews and handle urgent escalations.
