Job Overview
The role involves independently assessing Goldman Sachs’ internal control environment, focusing on emerging risks, and communicating findings to local and global management. The primary responsibility is to support the Audit Committee, Board of Directors, and Risk Committee by ensuring the effectiveness of the firm’s internal controls.
Responsibilities
- Execute Data Analytics Strategy: Implement data analytics (DA) strategies as defined by Internal Audit (IA) management in the context of audit responsibilities.
- Risk Identification: Partner with audit teams to identify risks in the business and create strategic data solutions to enhance audit efficiency and effectiveness.
- Tool Development: Build and deploy production-ready analytical tools to automate processes within Internal Audit.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with audit team members, ensuring clear and effective communication.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience, with at least a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Math, or Statistics.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with RDBMS/SQL.
- Programming skills in Python, including familiarity with text analytics and NLP.
- Understanding of basic statistics, statistical modeling, time series analysis, correlation, regression, and predictive modeling.
- Soft Skills: Strong team player with excellent communication skills, capable of managing multiple tasks effectively.
- Team Contribution: Active member of the Data Science team, helping to build analytical capabilities for the Internal Audit Division.
- Motivation: Highly driven and motivated, consistently taking initiatives to enhance performance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Analytics: Experience with advanced data analytics tools and techniques.
- Machine Learning: Familiarity with machine learning algorithms (e.g., Linear/Logistic Regression, SVM, Random Forest, Boosting).
- Visualization Tools: Experience with tools like Spotfire, Qlikview, or Tableau.
- Creativity/Innovation: Ability to improve processes and develop practical solutions that add value.
