Job Summary:
As a Staff Software Engineer, you will lead the development of end-to-end machine learning (ML) solutions that scale, driving personalized experiences for millions of users globally. You’ll work with big data, ML models, and scalable services to enhance the recommendation engine, ensuring it adapts in real-time to user preferences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, coding, and delivery of high-quality software, ensuring timely project completion.
- Manage the entire ML lifecycle using a variety of frameworks, including big data tools (e.g., Spark, Flink, Kafka) and ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow).
- Design and implement low-latency caching and storage solutions.
- Build real-time stream processing pipelines for user recommendations.
- Drive architecture and design discussions, continuously evaluating and influencing technology choices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver software solutions that align with business goals.
Skills & Attributes for Success:
- Programming: Proficiency in Python, Java, Golang, or Scala.
- Big Data & Kubernetes: Experience with Spark, Kubernetes, and other tools for managing data and ML workloads.
- Monitoring Tools: Skilled in using Grafana, Prometheus, Cloudwatch for API performance monitoring.
- ML Pipelines: Ability to develop and maintain consistent ML pipelines from development to production.
- Scalable Architectures: Expertise in designing ML architectures for high-traffic environments.
- MLOps: Familiarity with tools for scalable deployment, including feature stores, model hosting, and prediction monitoring.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced setting.

The Disney+ Hotstar Customer Experience (CEX) team oversees the entire customer journey, creating personalized content experiences for a global audience of over 500 million users. The Discovery Team, in particular, focuses on enhancing content discovery by collaborating across various roles to refine recommendation algorithms based on user behavior and preferences.
