About the Role
We are seeking a talented and motivated Data Analytics Engineer to join our Data Analytics Solutions team at Swiss Re. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Azure technologies, including Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Storage, and Power BI. We also prefer candidates who have experience in backend development, particularly with .NET. In this role, you will focus on developing, maintaining, and optimizing data analytics solutions to support our business intelligence and data integration needs.
Responsibilities
Business Intelligence & Reporting:
- Develop and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards.
- Assist in integrating data from various sources to create insightful and actionable reports.
- Ensure that data visualizations meet the needs of clients and business stakeholders.
Data Pipeline Development:
- Design and develop data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF), SQL Server stored procedures, and/or Databricks Spark ETL processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline issues to ensure data quality and reliability.
Backend Integration (Nice to Have):
- Support backend development tasks related to data integration and API management, especially using .NET.
- Assist in developing and maintaining data services and applications that interface with Azure data solutions.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other engineers to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, documentation, and the sharing of best practices within the team.
- Stay updated on the latest developments in Azure services and data engineering practices.
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, including database management, query optimization, and security practices.
- Experience with Power BI in developing and maintaining reports and dashboards.
- Knowledge of Azure Storage solutions, including Blob, Table, and Data Lake Storage.
- Solid understanding of data modeling using 3NF and dimensional approaches.
- Experience developing data pipelines.
- Familiarity with backend development, particularly with .NET (desirable).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a global team environment.
