Role and Responsibilities
As a Software Development Engineer at CommerceIQ, you will:
- Develop, test, and release features in a timely manner and with high quality, contributing to revenue and margin impact for top brands.
- Design your own features, considering the scale and high availability of the systems.
- Collaborate with the team, perform code reviews, engage in design discussions, and mentor other developers.
- Take ownership of your feature and work directly with product teams to drive customer impact.
- Participate in all phases of the software development cycle as part of a Scrum team.
Skillset
The ideal candidate will have:
- Extensive experience as a Java developer with exceptional software system design, problem-solving, and object-oriented coding skills.
- Experience with distributed transaction-processing systems or asynchronous messaging technology.
- A solid understanding of system performance trade-offs, load balancing, and engineering for high availability.
- A passion for building quality software and taking end-to-end responsibility for the developed features.
- Knowledge of enterprise information systems, service-oriented architectures, and operational data stores (a plus).
- A BS or MS in Computer Science/Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a similar degree from a top-tier institution.
