Role Overview:
As a Software Engineering DevOps graduate, you’ll play a pivotal role in enabling Ciena’s R&D teams. Here’s why this role is crucial:
- Enhance R&D design team efficiency and developer experience.
- Work collaboratively with the PRISM Release Engineering team to drive productivity enhancements.

- Implementing cost-effective solutions and productivity enhancements.
- Improving developer experiences for Ciena engineers.
Your Responsibilities:
- Take ownership from requirements to deployment.
- Utilize industry-leading technologies like Linux, Docker, and Cloud.
- Collaborate with a global team of product designers.
What to Expect:
Within 1 month:
- Complete onboarding and familiarize yourself with our products and team dynamics.
- Shadow teammates, participate in training sessions, and define developer experience goals.
Within 3 months:
- Gather feedback from engineers and contribute to tooling improvements.
- Support new or existing tools and share achievements with the team.
Within 6 months:
- Enhance tools and environments for wider R&D use.
- Provide input for future tool development and understand system integration.
Within 12 months:
- Lead the implementation of a new tool impacting hundreds of engineers.
- Contribute to team growth by participating in the hiring process and mentoring new members.
