You will be involved in developing Aladdin, BlackRock’s investment operating system, which is utilized both internally and externally by numerous financial institutions. Aladdin combines advanced risk analytics with comprehensive portfolio management, trading, and operations tools to facilitate informed decision-making and serve as a central platform for global investment firms.

As a member of Aladdin Engineering, you will:

  • Work in a fast-paced and complex environment.
  • Analyze multiple solutions and deploy technologies flexibly.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members across different offices and countries.
  • Contribute significantly to the development of Aladdin’s global, multi-asset trading platform.
  • Work with product management and business users to define the product roadmap.
  • Design and develop innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Apply validated quality software engineering practices throughout development phases.
  • Ensure resilience and stability through quality code reviews, testing, and production support.
  • Lead and motivate team members, fostering a culture of inclusion and diversity.
  • Drive project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables using AGILE methodologies.

Qualifications:

  • B.E./B.TECH./MCA or equivalent engineering degree from a reputable university.
  • 9-12 years of proven experience.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proficiency in core Java and related technologies, with strong object-oriented skills and design patterns.
  • Experience building high-quality software with design-focused and test-driven approaches.
  • Hands-on experience with Java, Spring, TypeScript, JavaScript, Microservices, Angular (2.0+), React.
  • Strong knowledge of the Open-Source technology stack (Spring, Hibernate, Maven, JUnit, etc.).
  • Familiarity with relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., Apache Cassandra).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience or interest in finance, investment processes, and/or translating business problems into technical solutions.
  • Experience leading development teams, projects, or being responsible for significant applications or systems.
  • Exposure to building microservices and APIs (REST, Kafka, gRPC).
  • Experience with agile development, open-source projects, optimization, algorithms, or related quantitative processes.
  • Familiarity with high-scale distributed technologies (Kafka, Mongo, Ignite, Redis), cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud), DevOps, and AI-related projects/products.
  • Demonstrated mastery of software engineering principles through degrees, certifications, or open-source contributions.
