Role Descriptions:

Quantitative Researcher (“Quant”)

  • Purpose: Apply mathematical and statistical methods to solve financial and risk management problems.
  • Responsibilities:
    • Propose new or improved algorithmic trading strategies based on market trends.
    • Develop and maintain analytical tools critical for Electronic Trading (ET) clients.
    • Analyze algorithm performance and suggest improvements.
    • Use advanced mathematical techniques to understand data and build models.
    • Develop tools to enhance the performance of Barclays’ electronic trading tools.
    • Coding in Python is required; SQL/KDB+ experience is a plus.

Quant Developer

  • Purpose: Design and develop frameworks to support market analytics, execution strategies, models, pricing, hedging, and trade analytics.
  • Responsibilities:
    • Develop reusable frameworks for market analytics and other trading-related models.
    • Translate mathematical models into programming languages.
    • Collaborate with global Quant Researchers and Developers for testing and implementing features.
    • Optimize tools for enhancing electronic trading algorithms.
    • Participate in peer reviews and provide second-line support.

Additional Analyst Responsibilities:

  • Conduct small research projects and support strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare presentations and reports based on research findings.
