What You’ll Do:
As a Business License Associate Analyst, you will be tasked with managing registrations and filings for various licenses across government levels. The current role emphasizes state-level sales tax registrations, primarily conducted online. You’ll need to swiftly grasp new concepts to operate autonomously in a fast-paced environment, where attention to detail, analytical skills, and effective communication are paramount.
Job Duties:
- Accurately prepare and submit Sales & Use tax returns and payments within required deadlines.
- Demonstrate understanding of state rules and regulations pertaining to tax.
- Uphold high accuracy standards in accordance with Operating Procedures to prevent client penalties and interest charges.
- Ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and maintain precise and timely registrations.
- Provide regular updates and communicate challenges or obstacles to the manager.
- Stay informed about updates and trends in the field to support production and accuracy objectives.
- Identify and implement process enhancements to drive efficiency.
- Collaborate with the team to strategize and execute monthly/quarterly/semi-annual/annual filings.
- Act as the primary point of contact for external customers via email and client calls.
- Assist internal teams with technical issues and inquiries.
- Maintain clear and concise communication, and accurately record information in systems.
- Be open to assuming additional responsibilities as needed to meet deadlines.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with timelines and data formats mandated by various government authorities.
- Be flexible to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays to fulfill filing requirements.
What You’ll Need to be Successful:
- Strong attention to detail and precision.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- 0 to 2 years of relevant experience.
- MBA in Finance preferred.
- Knowledge of Sales Tax (VAT & Use Tax) preferred.
- Familiarity with tracking tools like Salesforce & Atlassian Jira.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively interact with external customers and collaborate with internal teams.
