About the Role
The Senior Consultant will report directly to the Principal Consultant, Governance and Technology. They will be responsible for driving Athena’s work within the data governance sector, including technical delivery, communication, and business development.
We seek a high-performing mid-early career professional passionate about contributing to cutting-edge research and practice on the use of technology in service delivery and social impact. The ideal candidate will possess excellent writing skills, translating complex technical concepts into accessible deliverables such as policy briefs, presentations, reports, and blog posts. They should demonstrate the ability to quickly comprehend complex concepts and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Core Job Responsibilities:
- Strong market development and business acquisition skills
- Effective project and client management
- Contribution to the vision and strategy for the Governance and Technology practice
- Technical guidance and support for assigned projects
- Design and lead proposals for clients such as BMGF, The World Bank, USAID
- Interpret and communicate research results for a wide audience
- Support the Practice Lead on strategy, recruitment, and people management
- Knowledge management, communication, and dissemination
- Mentorship to junior members as needed
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Master’s degree in Economics, Public Policy, Social Science, or related fields
- Minimum 6 years of professional work experience in development consulting, research, or public policy
- Excellent writing and presentation skills
- Entrepreneurial attitude with an interest in business development
- Ability to work with multicultural teams, perform under pressure, and meet deadlines
- Attention to detail and good time management
- Willingness to travel for project work
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of reference check and employment verification
- No employment restrictions from a former employer that would prevent job responsibilities
- India work authorization required
