This job posting is for the position of Associate Database Administrator at Oracle in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. The role is part of Oracle Health Applications & Infrastructure, focusing on the development and support of a platform aimed at modernizing healthcare through automation and leveraging Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Database Management: Manage Oracle Health Applications & Infrastructure Databases (both Production and Non-Production), including performing basic monitoring and capacity management.
  • Issue Resolution: Triage database alerts and issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Database Maintenance: Manage and maintain Standby, Golden Gate, and Production databases, set up and maintain database backups, and monitor and maintain replication.
  • Software Updates: Apply database software updates and stand-alone hotfixes to customer environments.
  • Collaboration: Work with third-party software or hardware manufacturers to ensure optimal configuration and support.
  • Performance Tuning: Establish best practices for database tuning, performance monitoring, capacity management, and automation.
  • Cloud Migration: Contribute to strategic projects, including migrating on-premises databases to Oracle Cloud and Autonomous Databases.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience: At least 2+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA and 1+ years of experience with scalable, cloud-native distributed systems.
  • Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Information Technology, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Software, Electronics, Operational Research, or Computer System Engineering.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Oracle Database technologies, Oracle Cloud, Python, Perl, and/or Shell Scripting. Experience with managing production databases on UNIX systems (RHEL, OEL).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technologies: Knowledge of Oracle Maximum Availability Architecture, high availability and replication technologies (Data Guard, GoldenGate), and Oracle Autonomous Database.
  • Scripting: Advanced skills in Shell, Perl, and Python scripting.
