Job Overview:

Amazon is seeking talented individuals to join the Disability Leave Services (DLS) team. This team aims to provide top-notch professional services for leave of absence, disability, and accommodation services to Amazon employees, applicants, job seekers, and candidates worldwide. As an ACM Consultant, you will manage various accommodation requests related to life events, serving as a single point of contact for employees throughout their leave of absence or disability event.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inquiry Handling: Initiate and respond to inquiries about accommodation events, benefits, and options available to employees.
  • Case Management: Provide comprehensive case management services, including reviewing medical documentation in compliance with federal and state laws and Amazon policies.
  • Benefit Application: Utilize duration guidelines and best practices to support accommodation oversight.
  • Case Plan Adjustment: Critically assess and adjust the case management plan based on an employee’s changing needs.
  • Issue Resolution: Address and respond to sensitive situations, troubleshoot issues, and seek to remove barriers.
  • Communication: Communicate regular updates to employees and stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure compliance with standard work, federal/state regulations, and company policy. Maintain accurate and timely system records.
  • Collaboration: Consult, coordinate, and partner with third-party administrators, HR, Safety, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, team members, and other departments as appropriate.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of customer service experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of US legislation Leave of Absence, Disability, and/or Accommodations, specifically ADA/ADAAA and FMLA.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to identify issues for problem-solving.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and influence others in a cross-functional environment.
  • Strong time management and ownership of deliverables.
  • Demonstrated communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Prior experience in leave of absence and/or disability claim management roles, with experience using case management systems.
  • Experience providing guidance on leave of absence, disability plans, accommodation, human resources, benefits, or employee matters.
  • Experience managing multiple projects or cases independently in an environment with changing priorities.
  • Experience handling confidential information.
