About the Role:
As an Android Developer (SDE I), you will be part of a passionate and collaborative team of developers, creating maintainable and testable Android applications. The ideal candidate is a problem solver with experience in Android SDK, API design, and unit testing techniques. You will engage in both development and team mentorship while collaborating with cross-functional teams to build and improve Meesho’s Android platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct code reviews, write unit tests, and contribute to architectural planning and refactoring.
- Work on bug fixes and enhance app performance.
- Design and build new features for the Android platform.
- Mentor interns and support your team members.
- Collaborate with QA, Engineers, Product Managers, and Designers.
- Work with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree (BE/BTech/BCA/BSc) in any discipline.
- 1+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience working on two or more Android apps.
- Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, Android SDK, and related tools.
- Familiarity with Android libraries like Retrofit, OkHttp, Picasso, RxJava, Gson, etc.
- Understanding of Material Design, common UX patterns, and functional programming paradigms.
- Knowledge of REST APIs, Git, continuous integration, and object-oriented programming.
- Understanding of architectural patterns like MVVM and experience with advanced Android concepts.
- Proficiency in debugging and optimizing Android applications.
- Ability to design maintainable, clean code, and distinguish good from bad design.
- Having published apps on the Play Store is a plus.
