The Finance Operations, Accounting & Analysis (FOAA) team at Amazon is fast-paced, team-focused, and dedicated to delivering exceptional customer experiences.
FOAA is seeking a Staff Accountant to support Central Accounting and Tax Compliance.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Month-End Activities: Support the closing of sub-ledgers, reconcile general ledger accounts, prepare reports, and analyze balance sheet accounts.
- Flux Analysis: Conduct month-end Flux analysis for P&L and balance sheet accounts, and share insights with stakeholders on changes.
- Accounting Expertise: Apply in-depth knowledge of accounting principles and systems to identify and resolve complex issues, consulting with leadership as needed.
- Financial Controls: Ensure financial policies, procedures, and internal controls are documented and improve processes as necessary.
- Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Prepare reconciliations, including GST Tax returns and sub-ledger reports, and address issues promptly.
- Audit Support: Work closely with auditors to answer queries and ensure audits are completed smoothly.
- GRC Compliance: Ensure internal control compliance and align improvements with stakeholders.
- Business/System Launch Support: Participate in new business or system launches, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of accounting entries and financial reporting.
Basic Qualifications:
- Experience using data to drive business decisions.
- Chartered Accountant (CA) with 0-4 years of post-qualification experience in:
- Month-end closing of books of accounts.
- Sub-ledger accounting.
- Balance sheet reconciliations.
- GST/VAT (Indirect tax) and reporting activities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in software such as Excel, Access, Oracle, Essbase, SQL, and VBA.
- Knowledge of GST or VAT (Indirect tax) accounting and compliance.
