Job Title: Engineering Manager – Customer Experience (CEX)

Location: Bangalore, India (Hybrid)

Reporting to: Senior Engineering Manager

Job Summary:

As an Engineering Manager, you will collaborate with stakeholders, senior engineers, and tech leaders to solve complex business and technical problems. You will be responsible for setting engineering standards, making trade-offs between competing interests, and delivering optimal solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Team Overview:

The Streaming Platform team is critical in managing the customer video delivery experience on a variety of devices, including mobile, tablet, and living room screens. This team is central to delivering live sports and event experiences globally, managing playback, CDN, and quality of experience to ensure seamless content delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

User Experience: Lead a team to build next-generation user experiences and platforms for intuitive content discovery.
Team Leadership: Manage a team of 8+ engineers across Playback and CDN pods, focusing on seamless content delivery across multiple countries and devices.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product and other teams to set vision, roadmap, and develop new capabilities in streaming platforms.
Technical Roadmap: Collaborate with Principal Engineers and Architects to define and implement cost-effective video streaming solutions.
Team Development: Build and mentor a high-performing engineering team, set goals, create execution plans, and track progress.
Innovation: Drive innovation to overcome technical limitations and deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Skills & Attributes:

Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in Golang and GoRoutines, with experience in Java or Python being a plus.
Management Experience: At least 3 years of managing software development teams with hands-on architectural or distributed systems experience.
API Development: Experience building RESTful APIs with monitoring, fault tolerance, and metrics.
Database Experience: Proficient with high-scale databases like MySQL, NoSQL (Cassandra, Redis, DynamoDB).
Cloud Experience: Experience with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) for production applications.
CI/CD Processes: Familiarity with CI/CD practices.
Project Delivery: Proven track record of delivering large, cross-functional projects and growing engineering talent.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to present complex technical information clearly.
