Job Summary:
Emerson is seeking a dynamic and hardworking Data Science Engineer to join a multi-functional team of skilled engineers. Key Responsibilities:
- Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for data-driven insights and develop innovative solutions to complex business problems.
- Data Pipeline Development: Develop, implement, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes for collecting, cleaning, and curating large datasets from various sources.
- Machine Learning: Design, build, and deploy machine learning, deep learning, and large language models to assist the organization in making better data-driven decisions.
- Exploratory Data Analysis: Perform data analysis, sanitization, feature engineering, and data visualization to gain insights and identify areas for improvement.
- Optimization: Optimize machine learning models to ensure scalability, accuracy, and performance while minimizing computational costs.
- Monitoring: Continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of deployed models, refining them as necessary.
- Innovation: Stay updated on the latest developments in data science and big data technologies.
- Best Practices: Develop and implement best practices in data management, modeling, code, and quality assurance.
- Communication: Effectively communicate data insights to team members, collaborators, and senior management.
- Innovation Activities: Actively participate in innovation activities like ideathons and hackathons.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience with popular data science libraries and frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Programming: Strong programming skills in Python are a must.
- Machine Learning: Experience in machine learning, deep learning, and large language models.
- Mathematics: Solid understanding of calculus, linear algebra, probability, and machine learning algorithms.
- Visualization: Proficiency in data visualization tools like Matplotlib, Seaborn, Bokeh, or Dash.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional Education: B.E/Postgraduate in Mathematics, Computer Science, Electronics & Instrumentation.
- Experience: 2 to 5 years of experience with a minimum of 6 months in large language models (LLM).
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in data science, especially in AI.
- Domain Knowledge: Prior experience in the engineering domain.
