Role Overview:
The Transportation Operation Center (TOC) is the command hub for Amazon’s Transportation Execution, responsible for the smooth coordination of freight movement from vendors to Amazon Fulfillment Centers (FCs) and from FCs to carrier hubs. This role involves real-time problem-solving, data analysis, and communication with multiple stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient transportation operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communication: Engage with external customers (Carriers, Vendors/Suppliers) and internal teams (Retail, Finance, Software Support, FCs).
- Data Management: Extract and analyze data using tools like Excel, Access, and SQL to generate reports and support decision-making.
- Performance Metrics: Understand and develop metrics that drive business outcomes.
- Problem Solving: Identify and escalate issues, ensuring timely resolutions while considering the business impact.
- Process Improvement: Ideate and drive process improvements to streamline operations.
- Documentation: Create and present narratives on weekly findings and variances to goals.
- Customer Experience: Maintain a focus on enhancing the customer experience while operating in a 24/7 environment.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative/technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics).
- Proficiency in Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with SQL.
