Job Description

The Data Analyst will join the India Digital Operations Center, focusing on developing organization-wide solutions to extract insights from data. Responsibilities include integrating data from various sources, developing data models with ETL tools, and creating visualizations using BI tools for KPIs, thereby enabling data-driven decision-making. The role also involves recommending improvements for the quality, reliability, and efficiency of Grace’s operations.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the business use of data and stakeholder requirements to support work processes and strategic business objectives.
  • Use data, software engineering, and data science techniques to create business value through data accessibility.
  • Develop data-driven decisions and insights using predictive models to support operations and monitor asset performance.
  • Analyze large volumes of internal and external data using tools like Python, SQL/NoSQL, and various ML models to provide valuable insights.
  • Summarize and communicate complex analytic results to a variety of audiences effectively.

Required Qualifications

  • B.E/B.Tech/M.Tech in Chemical Engineering with a demonstrated interest in Data Analytics, or B.E/B.Tech in Computer Science with at least 1 year of experience in the Chemical/Manufacturing/Process industry.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for managing and collaborating with multiple internal and external resources, including vendor relationships.
  • Outstanding analytical skills, including financial business case creation.
  • Ability to quickly learn details of Grace’s chemical processes and understand the impact of automation improvements on cost, quality, and safety.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Practical experience in data mining, data cleaning, transformation, acquisition, preparation, and validation.
  • Strong knowledge and experience handling large datasets using programming languages such as Python, SQL, and other scripting languages.
  • Expertise in databases and RDBMS, particularly SQL querying for efficient data retrieval, management, and analysis.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret large datasets, extracting meaningful insights and identifying trends and patterns.
  • Experience creating visualizations using BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, or SAC to communicate insights and facilitate data-driven decision-making.
  • Proficiency in advanced Excel functionalities, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP, and complex data manipulation techniques.
  • Expertise in advanced analytics and statistical modeling through academic or post-academic projects.
  • Experience communicating insights clearly and persuasively to diverse stakeholders.

Preferable Experience

  • Familiarity with cloud environments, especially data lake and data warehousing concepts, with a preference for Google Cloud.
  • Strong grasp of advanced statistical techniques such as Decision Trees, regression, and correlation.
  • Experience implementing AI/ML/DL models using Python and libraries like Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-learn.
  • Hands-on experience with handling time series data and time series forecasting.
  • Exposure to SAP Modules and maintenance process improvement KPIs.
