Description:
The Appstore Quality Tech team at Amazon builds AI and engineering tools to ensure the highest quality apps for Amazon Appstore users. This team focuses on automating functional, non-functional, and compliance checks for apps submitted by developers, aiming to publish apps within 5 hours.
Responsibilities:
- Implement statistical methods to address specific business problems using code (Python, Scala, etc.).
- Enhance existing methodologies by developing new data sources, testing model improvements, and fine-tuning model parameters.
- Collaborate with program management, product management, software developers, data engineering, and business leaders.
- Develop, test, and deploy a variety of statistical, econometric, and machine learning models.
- Create customer-facing reporting tools to provide insights and metrics tracking model performance.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to business customers with varying technical expertise.
- Build trust with customers by addressing their needs using technology.
- Utilize a deep knowledge of LLMs, embeddings, and transformer models.
- Work with distributed machine learning and statistical algorithms to handle large-scale data.
About the Team:
The Appstore team delivers a vast selection of relevant apps, games, and services across various devices. They enable developers to seamlessly launch and manage their apps on Amazon, helping customers discover, buy, and engage with these apps on Fire TV, Fire Tablets, and mobile devices.
Basic Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience as a data scientist.
- 4+ years of experience with machine learning/statistical modeling, data analysis tools, and techniques.
- 5+ years of experience with data querying languages (e.g., SQL), scripting languages (e.g., Python), or statistical/mathematical software (e.g., R, SAS, Matlab).
- Experience applying theoretical models in an applied environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Python, Perl, or another scripting language.
- Experience in a machine learning or data scientist role at a large technology company.
- Master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., statistics, mathematics, data science, business analytics, economics, finance, engineering, or computer science) or a Bachelor’s degree.
