As a Technical Support Engineer, you’ll be pivotal in ensuring prompt resolution of global customer and partner service requests within a highly secure environment. Working closely with cross-functional teams such as Development, QA, Operations, Customer Service, Finance, Sales, and Alliances, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring high customer satisfaction throughout the service lifecycle.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide friendly and professional support via phone, email, and WebEx, focusing on various product modules offered by Qualys over SaaS platforms.
- Collaborate with Development and QA teams to address technical issues and facilitate their resolution.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships while delivering exceptional support at all stages of the customer service lifecycle.
Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with Networking, IT security, and Windows troubleshooting.
- Previous experience in a technical support role, with the ability to adapt quickly to various technical challenges.
- Strong foundation in Windows or solid experience with Linux/Unix in an enterprise environment.
- Passion for security, with preference given to individuals with CISSP/CEH or equivalent certifications.
- Deep understanding of network services and protocols/configurations.
- 1-2 years of experience in a technical support role.
- Preferred experience in Vulnerability Management and Web Application Security/Firewall application support.
- Proficiency in TCP/IP and LAN/WAN infrastructures.
- Familiarity with common OS services (IIS, BIND, Apache, AD, WINS, Samba, SSH).
- Knowledgeable about current firewall technologies, Intrusion Detection Systems, and Network Vulnerability Scanners.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor of Science, preferably with a major in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with packet capture review and diagnosis.
- Previous API support and Regex knowledge.
- Understanding of scripting languages like Bash, Python, Powershell, etc.
- Knowledge of major web server software (IIS, Apache, WebSphere, Tomcat, WebLogic), UNIX/Windows web services, and diverse platforms and applications (Linux, Windows 2003/2008, Windows NT, Novell, Lotus Notes, Mac OS).
- Desirable knowledge of Oracle and Microsoft SQL.
- Certifications such as CCNA, MCSE, CISSP, CompTIA Security+, and CEH are highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Customer Support and Development Tools (Salesforce, Jira, etc.).
- Willingness to work in rotational work hours.
