Introduction:
The Wealth Data Integration team at Barclays is seeking a Software Engineer to join their agile feature teams. These teams are responsible for developing and maintaining APIs and micro-services facilitating communication across Barclays Wealth applications and external systems.
Responsibilities:
- Work within a JAVA Integration/API scrum team.
- Translate business and functional requirements into technical and functional designs for Java and API-based projects with a React-based front end.
- Produce and maintain application code and automated test suites.
- Unit and integration testing of code, providing support to testing cycles.
- Contribute to central JAVA and API forums, Best Practice, etc.
- Support and mentor junior colleagues.
- Participate in all aspects of an iterative Agile development lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with application support teams.
Requirements:
- Excellent hands-on technology skills: Java 11+, React 17+, Linux, Databases, REST, MQ, Kafka, Junit, Springboot 2.x
- Proficiency in Core Java Concepts and implementation
- Good UI skills
- Experience in designing and developing enterprise-level software solutions using tools and techniques such as Source Control, Build Tools (e.g., Maven), TDD, BDD.
- Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD Jenkins Pipeline
- Self-driven, proactive with strong problem-solving abilities
- Good communication skills
Skills That Will Help:
- Sonar Cube, Veracode Standards
- Cloud Development, particularly AWS
- Knowledge of cybersecurity and cryptography
- Experience with deployment tools, particularly Chef
- SQL Server/Oracle/NoSQL Database experience
