Position Overview: We seek a Data Analyst to work on data sourcing, integration, analysis, and dissemination for our Data Science and Digital Services portfolio. The role involves collaborating with senior team members and global stakeholders to develop knowledge products at the frontier of data for social impact.
Main Responsibilities: Data Analytics:
- Collect, transform, and ensure the quality of data for various projects.
- Develop technological solutions for learning and knowledge management, including building dashboards.
- Analyze data, identify insights, anomalies, and recommend corrective actions.
- Perform data modeling, implement designs using advanced math and statistics, and utilize modern analytical techniques.
- Generate business insights using tools such as R, Python, QGIS, and PowerBI.
Knowledge Development:
- Support in building methodological concept notes and maintaining codebases.
- Identify specific data use cases to add value to stakeholders.
- Provide training and technical assistance in data usage in developing country contexts.
Business Development and Outreach:
- Develop proposals within the portfolio and scope of work in data and digital business lines.
- Expand global networks and outreach through proactive interactions.
Qualifications and Competencies: Academic Background:
- Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Econometrics/Economics, or related fields.
Professional Experience:
- Two years of work experience in similar contexts.
- Strong analytical skills, ability to work independently, and experience in implementing innovative data solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Technical Expertise:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong programming skills in R and Python.
- Ability to develop visualizations in PowerBI, Shiny, or Python.
- Sound understanding of diverse data types and experience with geospatial data.
- Database management experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL.
